Hazel Marie Mills Dietel, 70, passed away on October 19, 2020 at her home in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Laford Mills and Alma Ruth Hall (Tuch) however raised by Alma's second husband, Henry B Hall since the age of 6. Hazel, was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ronald A Dietel.

Hazel is survived by her son Randy Dietel, daughter Deborah Bulanek and husband Timothy, and daughter Lauren Dietel; grandchildren Savannah Bulanek, Jacey Bulanek and Aurora Crews; many brothers and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In her early years, she was raised as an Air Force brat moving to several places. She graduated in Alexandria, LA from Johnson High School in Tokyo, Japan. After graduation, she lived in a few places before settling back in New Braunfels with the love of her life, Ronald Dietel.

Hazel spent the majority of her career in banking, however preferred to be the stay-at-home mom when funds rarely permitted. She loved working on many arts and crafts such as ceramics, sewing, and crocheting. She was the first one called and there to do any alterations for all the programs that her children were involved in, from dance class and school choir to church pageants. She was never hesitant to help any who asked. For a short while, Hazel owned a small ceramics shop in which she would spend countless hours. With all the projects she was involved in, most important to her was taking care of her own family. When she had the ability to stay at home, she enjoyed caring for her husband and children. Hazel made sure her children had what they needed, even through difficult times. Hazel loved going on the many trips, outings, and family parties with Ronnie and her family. Wherever Ronnie went she would gladly follow.

After the passing of her husband, Ronnie, Hazel continued to crochet, creating beautiful blankets for all who asked. She attended church with her children at Jesus is Lord Church and enjoyed fun times with her friends for ladies day, but never really got over losing Ronnie and couldn't wait to see him again.

Visitation will be held at Lux Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A small service to follow.
A short Graveside Service will be held at Hill Country Memorial Gardens, Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
