Alidia Brown
1934 - 2018

Mrs. Alidia Brown, daughter of the late Melba Ingram Barbour, was born on March 21, 1934. She married Clayborn L. Brown. They had three children, Melba, Denise and Carlotta.

Alidia was educated in the Durham Public School System. She graduated from North Carolina Central University and the University of West Florida. She taught school in North Carolina, Department of Defense schools, in Panama City, F.L., in Japan and in Bay County schools. Her love of working with children not only extended to the children she taught, but its foundation comes from her own loving home environment.

Early in her life, Alidia made a commitment to Christ and became a member of Winn's Chapel Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, N.C. Wherever she lived, she participated in church functions.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Mr. Clayborne L. Brown, three daughters, Ms. Melba Brown, of Alexandria, V.A., and Ms. Carlotta Brown, of Panama City, F.L., cousins, Mr. Bobby Brown and wife Mrs. Ora Brown, Laura Womble and Hallie Brown, all of Durham, N.C., Mr. Frank Ingram and wife Hazel, Mr. Alfred Ingram, New York, N.Y., Mrs. Louia Ingram Maddolinia, niece Liana C. Cassar and husband Larson, nephew, Steven Cassar. She will be fondly remembered by many other relatives and friends.

The JHS Alumni will miss our teacher Alidia very much.
