Memorial services for George Lee Daves, 55, will be conducted at a later date in his hometown of Waterproof, La.

A native of Bastrop, Texas, and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Daves died at 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Daves was a captain in the U.S. Airforce, having graduated from the U.S. Airforce Academy in 1969. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and was a pilot in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian C. Daves of Jeanerette; his daughter, Tami T. Baca of Reno, Nev.; his brother, William C. Daves Jr., and his wife, Davida L., of Spokane, Wash.; two granddaughters, Shea and Tarayn Baca, both of Reno, Nev.; two nephews, Aaron Daves of Spokane, Wash., and Tom Daves of Seattle; and his loving pets.

Mr. Daves was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Daves Sr. and Helen M. Wallace Daves.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5288, Lafayette, La. 70505.

David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street of New Iberia, is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

The Johnson High alumni will miss Lee very much.
