Mike Meyerpeter**

Michael F. Meyerpeter
1947 - 2011

Mike was born on July 18, 1947 to Harvey F. and Thelma M. Meyerpeter at Hamilton Air Force Base in San Raphael, California. Mike passed away in his home on June 29, 2011. Mike a long time smoker, contracted lung cancer and it had spread to his brain. His family was with him at the time of his passing. Mike was 63.

We knew Mike and his family when they moved to Johnson in 1962 and returned to the States in 1964. While at Johnson Mike was a member of the football team and an active member of the Letterman's Club.

Upon returning to the States, Mike graduated high school and enrolled in Virginia Tech where he graduated with a degree in Engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, owning his own company: HVAC Systems, Inc. Mike enjoyed golf and football and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech Hokies.

We received a note from Bill Horn who gave us the news of Mike's passing. Bill said he has spoke with Mike, when they attended the Johnson reunion a few years back in DC (2006); it was great to see him.
