Walter "Lee" Tappan of Pensacola, Florida, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2016 at the age of 64.
A celebration of Lee's life will be held on Wednesday, November 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N. New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
Lee was born October 12, 1952, in Tachikawa, Japan, to Walter and Mitsuko Tappan. He was a retired deputy lieutenant of the Escambia County Sherriff's Office and continued to serve in other capacities. Lee enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.
Lee leaves behind a beloved wife, Connie Tappan; daughter, Jennifer (Matt) Moll, and granddaughter, Emma, of Atlanta, GA; mother, Mitsuko Tappan, of Phoenix, AZ; brother, William "Bill" Tappan, of Pensacola, FL; sister, Donna (Greg) Voigt, of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Holly Tappan, of Phoenix, AZ; uncle William "Burge" (Barbara) Tappan, of Quincy, FL. Lee was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many.
Lee touched many lives with his caring and giving spirit. He has friends spread throughout the United States and abroad who will miss him dearly.
