Chiquita “Chik” Collins, 62, Kokomo, passed away at 8:57 a.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005 at St. Joseph
Hospital, Kokomo.
Collins was born Nov. 14, 1942 in Howard County to Howard and Louise Phillabaum McCormick. She
married William H. Collins on Jan. 29, 1985 and he survives.
Collins was a homemaker and practiced in home nursing care for many years. She graduated from high
school in 1960 at Yokota Airbase, Japan. She was a member of the Galilean Missionary Baptist Church,
Kokomo, the Peru VFW Auxiliary and the Peru American Legion.
Survivors include her mother, Louise McCormick, Russiaville; her husband, Bill Collins, Kokomo; one
daughter, Jennifer Kelley and husband Mike, Peru; two sons, David Rubush and Matthew Rubush, both of
Kokomo; two step-sons, Michael Collins, Kokomo and William Collins, Peru; two step-daughters, Annie
Collins, Kokomo and Margaret Collins, Indianapolis; six grandchildren, four step grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Ronald McCormick.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Stout and Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville
with Rev. David Eller officiating and burial at Twin Springs Cemetery, Howard County. Visitation will
be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

The Johnson High alumni will miss Chiquita very much.
